    Shoots just over M.O.A.

Posted by Rob on January 22, 2022

Paired this with a Bear Creek Arsenal BCG their entire BCG is very affordable at $6O. I was skeptical because the adage “you get what you pay for”. I took a gamble on it because the KAK 7.62x39 bolt was out of stock. I have another AR-47 and used the KAK bolt in it with a green mountain m4, chrome lined barrel. The rifle came out great! I’m very pleased as I was trying to keep my cost down while still maintaining reliability and accuracy. I only shot a little over 100 rounds but it was completely reliable with a mix of Russian steel case and some Winchester white box brass case. Plus some really old and questionable looking ammo. It feed it all and ejection was excellent at about 3:30. I place a premium on reliability and this combination proved excellent. To have the gun shoot just over MOA with a red dot sight is AMAZING! Thanks for making excellent products at affordable prices. Please keep pumping out more items for 7.62x39mm.

Used in a build I was trying to complete. Was really wanting something chrome lined but could not locate anything in stock. Went with this barrel and it seems to be decent

    Hard to beat

I have bought a couple of these 16 inch barrels in the last few years as well as the 11 inch barrel. This last 16 inch barrel I bought was to replace a Franklin Armory barrel that the barrel extension came loose on while removing a flash hider. Franklin didn't replace under warranty because I had initiated repairs before contacting them, but they did offer to sell me a new barrel at a discounted price. The price was the same as the cost of this new barrel from KAK. I wish I had found these before I bought the old barrel from Franklin, these KAK barrels are in my opinion far superior the quality of the Franklin barrels. After replacing the Franklin barrel with my new KAK barrel, I sighted in the new barrel at 75 yards, that's as far as I can shoot safely at my home range. Groups were very impressive using cheap Tulammo, clover leaf clusters. It will make a great shooter for general use and deer hunting out to 200 yards easy I'm sure. The only thing I could see that would be an improvement would be that the feed ramp cuts on the barrel extension be enlarged for the 7.62x39 cartridge. It wasn't a problem while breaking it in, no malfunctions of any kind in the 20 rounds shot using an H2 buffer, but it would be nice to see this in the future. I have enlarged the feed ramps on all my other 762 builds as a precaution. In the end, this barrel is of very good quality as expected from KAK and will last me the rest of my life I'm sure, these barrels are highly recommended.

    Great Service

Customer service was outstanding. Errors happen in any production stream. KAK corrected the issue within minutes of receiving my correspondence. I could not be more pleased with the outcome.

    Great value. Excellent service.

I've had quite a few x39 barrels. They have come along way in getting up to 5.56 level reliability. I wanted to lighten my h bar rifle and cut it to 14.5. This fit the bill. The lighter but not pencil profile is perfect if you asked me. Standard m4 sized ramps (not enlarged) but this does seem to always work just fine though. Ramps are smooth, inside barrel nice and smooth. Throat and headspace all within spec for .125 bolt depth. Melonite finish is very well done. Gas port lil large but not what I would say is overgassed for standard rusky steel cased ammo. ( .93 ish) Threading is concentric and very clean. Also they had the forethought to make the shoulder depth time perfectly with their extended compensator even without crush washer, which btw is cool looking and does provide intended effect. Came packaged well, lil cosmoline-ish grease on comp.. best of all, they shipped within 24 hours and in this new world we live in that is outstanding. Constant updates via email and text. The price is a great value. A lot of barrel for the price. Will definitely continue to do business with these guys.

    Several Builds with this Barrel.

    Posted by Ten_Ring on October 9, 2020

I have done several builds with this 16" barrel and the 18" and they both rock! Great grouping with this barrel and KAK bolt combo. Wish both the 16 and 18 were in stock so I could buy a few more. You cannot go wrong with these barrels and BCG's.

    Good stuff!

Posted by Desert Dog on April 15, 2019

Purchased this barrel in early Apr 2019 for a new upper build-out for my AR-47. The melonite finish is deep and even and it is just a notch under a satin finish more like egghsell low luster. BTW the 1:91/2 twist rate is the correct one for Russian ammo like Wolf (123 grain). Some manufactiurers use 1:8 and that's more of 75 gr 223 or 6.5 cal twist rate. Others offer 1:10 and that is acutally a standard tiwst for the .308 round. But like some of the other reviews state, it would be nice of KAK would use a 7.62x39 feed ramp since it is an AK barrel. The M4 feed ramps however are steep and well ramped all you have to do is make sure your lower receiver is also channeled out so that your rounds don't nose-dive! Also, this is not a pencil or light weight barrel - it is more like a Socom profile like my M&P 15T so it's more like a medium weight. So for you all at KAK if you want ot make a good barrel great: feed ramps & twist etc. stamped closer to the muzzle end.

    Best barrel for ur $$

This is a very good quality barrel for the money. It compares to barrels twice the price. If ur wanting to build a 7.62x39 AR, u won’t go wrong with this barrel.

    Great value

I was looking for a melonite, 16”, lightweight barrel and this checked every box. So far out of 200 rounds of different types and quality of ammo (most of it surplus and Tula) I have only had 3 failure to feed, and I’m pretty sure it was the ammo’s fault. I paired this with a KAK BCG and C Products magazines. The only change I would like to see is the caliber markings moved to the muzzle end of the barrel. They are completely covered up at the extension end by any hand guard that is used. Offer this in a 14.5” and I’ll buy one for my SBR. If not I might just buy another and have it cut down.
